U.S. Marine and Cleveland native Joshua Jeffries came across a beat produced by DJ Khaled on BET's website one day and ended up watching all of the other Hot 16 entries. After seeing everybody else's upload, he felt that the competition was lacking and that there was no question he could do it better.
Unfortunately, by the time he found out about the contest, the deadline to enter had already passed by. So, instead, he just kept the beat and put his own lyrics to the test anyway. With the rage of missing the contest deadline fueling the fire behind his assassination of this beat, Jeffries went out of his typical smooth style flow and fit right into a rapid-fire pace.
Being a long time student of Hip Hop, the interest to make his own music had always been there for Joshua Jeffries, so he started writing and uploading his videos to YouTube. This DJ Khaled beat is his most recent post to YouTube, but the rest of his videos can be found on his channel by clicking right here, so be sure to subscribe.
Joshua says he will be making more moves after he gets back from the U.S. Marine Corps. this year, as he continuously tries to spit some originality and stay away from the same nonsense most rappers use in their tracks today. He's all about bringing back the art of MCing and getting rid of the untruthful lifestyles being emphasized in current mainstream Hip Hop.
Be sure to follow him @Jcle216 on Twitter for updates, and stay on the look out for his next upload to YouTube.

Chicago native rapper and producer Skrip recently released "Say" featuring the Reach Records artist Andy Mineo, one of the many tracks to be included on his upcoming project The Und_rscore II, which is due to drop on January 15th.
The title of the track tells it all-- Skrip had something to say, and over this silky smooth instrumental was a very clear message. While vocalizing the importance of standing up for what you believe in, Skrip is also expressing the make-or-break power that even the simplest words can have. Sit back and enjoy this Skrip/Andy Mineo collab, and be on the lookout for The Und_rscore II.

Taking a look inside Hendersin's new release "Dear Hip Hop," there comes a message of frustration with this generation's taste in music and Hip Hop in general. With lines like Now is this game getting too strange?/N*ggas bumpin' Waka Flocka/Grammys go to 2 Chainz/I ain't really that impressed when it comes to new names Hendersin isn't holding back any harsh feelings towards the current state of Hip Hop. Most Hip Hop enthusiasts today can agree with this outlook on the game, but thankfully there are artists out there like Hendersin on the rise, putting some hope back into the music and changing the mold of these cookie-cutter tracks getting too much love in the mainstream.

Philly rappers Meek Mill and Cassidy haven't exactly been cordial to one another, having gotten into a little Twitter beef earlier this year when Meek told Cassidy to stop hating. Whether or not they're going to take this beef to another level, however, is to be determined. Allegedly Meek Mill offered to go head to head in a battle against either Cassidy or Murda Mook with $100,000 at stake. After the rumor flew around, Cassidy took to the Philadelphia radio station Hot 107.9 to confirm that he would be down to battle Meek Mill if the price was right. Despite Cassidy agreeing to put his gloves on and hit the ring, Meek Mill sent out tweets denying that he ever wanted to battle Murda Mook or Cassidy. Ultimately the whole situation was just a big misunderstanding caused by a journalist taking something Meek had said in an interview out of context. So, as of right now, Meek Mill vs. Cassidy isn't actually a thing. Instead, Meek Mill did say that if he were ever to promote an event, Cassidy and Murda Mook would definitely be who he'd pair up for a battle.

Endorsing President Barack Obama, Jay-Z speaks on the importance of voting and letting your political voice be heard.
"For so long, there was this voice that was silenced out there as far as exercising your right to vote. I think it was a voice that was silent because people had lost hope. They didn't believe that their voice mattered or counted," said Jay-Z, "Now people are exercising their right, and you are starting to see the power of our vote. He made it mean something for the first time for a lot of people. "
Election Day is coming up on November 6th. Embrace the power of your voice.
